My name is Sandra Lott and I was born and raised in Texas. Through many rough roads in my life, I was led to the loving arms of God the Father and His saving grace through our Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit has been my guide and my Comforter in many difficult situations, one being the loss of my sixteen-year-old son, Gerald Ray Lott. Gerald Ray truly had a heart of gold. He was very loving and considerate as is his older brother Tim. He is now in the loving arms of Jesus and is dearly missed by myself, his father and his older brother, Tim. As God held my heart in His hands then and still does today a passion has grown in me to help the world understand just how great the love of God is; our flesh cannot truly fathom how great and how deep and how wide God’s love for mankind truly is; all we have to do is look at the cross and that should speak for itself.
(Ephesians 3:16-19) “I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
If God who would send His One and Only Son to take the punishment for our sins, how can we ever doubt His love? God saw us while we were sinners and died for us! (Romans 5:8) “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” How awesome is that! We do not have to clean ourselves up before we receive His free gift; we just need to say yes! He will transform you. (II Corinthians 5:17) “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” He created you in love and died for you in love, there is no other love to compare. He loves you just as you are, come. His arms are wide open!
When my oldest son, Timothy was just barely in his walking stage, he was helping me frost a cake. Well, I frosted and he made a mess. He had to lick the frosting off of the spatula and got it all over his mouth. As he continued he got it all over himself as well.
Kids can get into all sorts of messes during their toddler stages and in their teenage years as well. They can really try your patience, especially when the principle calls you down to his office. Their physical appearance with all the new fads that come along and what they get themselves into can really try your nerves. It does not matter what changes they go through on the outside; you don’t stop loving them. They are your children! (I John 4:16) “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love.” God who is love created us to be His children and the emotions we have and love we have for our children originated from Him. (Genesis 1:26) “Let Us make man in Our image.” God has an Agape love for us; which is a love that is unending and does not depend on anything. It is a love that loves freely and does not love of because of our actions, but in spite of our actions. God loves us because of who we are; His creation and His children. He cares more about the inside; the attitude of our hearts than what is happening on the outside. His arms are always open, even if you went away. In the story of the prodigal son, the son wanted his share of his inheritance and left his father’s house. He basically partied it away and when he had nothing left he decided to go home where even his father’s servants were living better than he was; so he decided to go home and ask to work for his father as a servant. When he came home, instead of making him feel bad for spending everything he had the father rejoiced and through a party. Come home to God and He will greet you with love and peace and give you eternal life!
