El Roi: The God Who Sees/ Strong One

(Genesis 16:13-14) “She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her, “You are the God who sees me;” for she said, “Have I now seen the One who sees me.  That is why the well was called Beer Lahai Roi; it is still there between Kadesh and Bered.”

It is truly comforting to know that no matter where you go or what you do; God always has His ever watchful eyes on you.  (Proverbs 5:21) “For a man’s ways are in full view of the Lord, and He examines all his paths.”    So the next time suddenly a storm arises, fear not!  God is there to take care of you.  (Proverbs 15:3) “The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.”  The Bible says, “The righteous will live by faith;” not fear. Fear is not from God; (Romans 8:15) “For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.  And by Him we cry, “Abba, Father.”   God watches over the good and the bad; for we are all His creation; even those who reject Him.  (Genesis 1:26-27) “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.  So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”  So yes, that means that no matter what you do or don’t do, God sees.  (Hebrews 4:13) “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.  Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”

When a sudden loss happens and the bill collectors seem to be closing in, your children are in trouble way over their head remember God and His never-ending love is always with you and watching over you.  (Psalm 121:5-8) “The Lord watches over you—the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.  The Lord will keep you from all harm—He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”  There is never anything to fear as long as God, your heavenly Father, Creator, Savior and Friend is watching over you; fear not; God is there and He is the One who truly sees you and loves you for who you are; (Jeremiah 31:3) “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”  He knew you before you were born, what you would do and not do right; (Psalm 139:1-4) “O Lord, you have searched me and you know me.  You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.  You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.  Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.”  (Psalm 139:16) “All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be;” and He still chose to give you birth, (Ephesians 1:3-6) “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.  For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.  In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will– to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves.”

He knew you completely and He still chose to die for you, (Romans 5: 8) “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  God sees you for who you are and nothing can separate you from Him.  (John 10:29) “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand;” Nothing can separate you from His love (Romans 8:35-39) “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?  Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?  As it is written:  ‘For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered a sheep to be slaughtered.’  No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Fear not; God sees you and He will “never leave you nor forsake you,” He is the “Strong One” and nothing can stand in His way and His purpose for you.  Trust Him.
